He was still working his way in toward the first rough form of a Superbrain in the thunderbolt giant fir's heartwood, and the Vajra-Ant larva with Beyond-One-Star Talent had already spun itself into a pupa.

What excited Shen Cong was that the Slimes, studied for so long, had finally given up the secret of their Activity wave. The Slime King's peculiar properties of gathering and dispersing had once let him develop a stroke called Mind Storm.

But apart from grinding Slimes to pieces, Mind Storm was of little use in any other field.

Shen Cong had kept working at the Slimes' Activity wave, trying many wave structures and combinations, comparing and analyzing them one against another.

A great mass of work, night and day of it, had earned a result.

The Slimes' Activity wave had a very peculiar property. It was in fact mixed with Firestarter radiative fluctuation. This fluctuation could carry Firestarter energy, but it did not let the Firestarter energy settle out into Firestarter grains; the energy simply existed as energy. It was precisely because the Firestarter energies tangled with one another that the Slimes, assembled into a Slime King, could fight as a single body.

With the principle understood, what came next was how to use it.

The first thing Shen Cong thought of was solving the crisis of the Vajra Fortress trying to swallow his body.

"The Slimes' Activity wave can act as a link. It's a little like a spirit-fire system, only somewhat weaker, since it's only Firestarter energy and hasn't settled into Firestarter grains."

"If I use an Activity wave like that to link myself to the Vajra Fortress through Firestarter energy, will that keep the spirit-fire systems from linking directly?"

To test whether the notion was sound, Shen Cong ran the experiment on the iron lion first.

His consciousness guided the iron lion to imitate the Slimes' Activity wave.

Then his Superbrain consciousness guided the Vajra Fortress to imitate the Slimes' Activity wave.
