New York. Han Jeongu's house.
"Really? Was it that amazing?"
Gu Hyeseon had just come back from Korea, and before she could even take off her coat, her daughter's story had her cornered.
She'd heard that Han Serin had been to the party at the H.R TOWER.
Her daughter often attended Wall Street events, but it had been a long time since she'd recounted one with such an excited face.
"Mom, don't even ask. People whose names everyone on Wall Street knows were there. Michael Herrington, Robert Lorenz, Richard Whitman……."
"Wait, Richard Whitman?"
"Yeah. I had to look twice myself. More than twice."
Han Serin set her bag down and settled in across from her mother, Gu Hyeseon.
Since Friday night, Han Serin had told the same story to everyone she met.
Even now, the moment she started talking, the lights of the party and the faces of the people came back vividly.
"Even our representative director said that if there's ever another event like that, I absolutely have to get him in."
"Your stuck-up chief? He actually asked you for a favor like that?"
"So you can imagine what kind of event it was."
Han Jeongu had been listening beside them, and now he joined in.
"I hear Chairman Go Junyong came too. With Jensen Wang."
"Dad, you heard too?"
"With people like that there, how could Wall Street not talk? Since Friday night there's been plenty of chatter about who came and who talked longest with the host."
Han Jeongu worked as a director at a mid-sized private equity firm, but he wasn't in a position to make a guest list like that.
So when he'd first heard that his daughter had been at that party, he'd been more than a little surprised.
Gu Hyeseon looked from one of them to the other.
"Was it really that big a deal?"
"You should have seen it yourself, Mom."
Han Serin's excited voice sped up again.
"The whole top floor of the building is a penthouse. Do you know how big it is? About a thousand square meters, they said."
