"Hmm……."
A low groan escaped Robert Lorenz.
An investment report lay open on the desk. He couldn't take his eyes off the number on the last page.
63%!
That was the return Emilia had made betting on a fall in natural gas.
Even after fees and every other cost, few of the house's investments in recent years could match it.
Robert turned back to the first page and went through it again, slowly.
When it began, this trade had clearly been more likely to fail than to pay.
With winter not yet over, few people had expected natural gas prices to collapse this fast.
Emilia had never been an energy-market specialist, either. And yet the result was a jackpot.
"Sixty-three percent……."
He chewed on the number again. It was too big a result to write off as a lucky break.

Robert's finger stopped on the report.
The secretary, who had been waiting quietly until then, spoke up.
"Chairman."
"Go on."
"The Korean, Ha Tae-ung, has arrived in New York."
Robert slowly raised his head. His eyes went a shade colder.
"When?"
"Today."
"Where is he staying?"
"We've confirmed it's the building he bought in Lower Manhattan."
The secretary set the material he'd prepared down on the desk.
It held photos of the building, the record of the ownership transfer and an update on the construction work.
"The building's name has changed too."
"To what?"
"The H.R TOWER."
Robert's gaze stopped on the photograph.
A twenty-four-story building in Lower Manhattan's Financial District.
He'd already known about the purchase. What he hadn't expected was for the man to come to New York himself and set up a base this soon.
"Has he moved in?"
"Yes. He appears to be using the top-floor…
