Seeing the disappointment on Ning Chen's face, Bai Qingfan turned to Xiao Yanxi. "What's wrong with my lord prince?"

Xiao Yanxi shook her head slightly, then looked at Ning Chen. "Are you all right?"

Ning Chen waved a hand, then smiled. "I'm fine!"

Inside, though, he was full of doubt. How could there be no wounds on Bai Qingfan's body?

Had he been guessing wrong all along? Was Bai Qingfan not the man in white at all?

Xiao Yanxi, on the other hand, was very happy. If there were no wounds on her teacher, that meant he wasn't a bad man.

Ning Chen narrowed his eyes and studied Bai Qingfan.

He had to admit, the fellow really was good-looking—handsome features, an air of being above the common world... and a pretty good actor too.

Bai Qingfan might have no wounds, but Ning Chen hadn't let go of his suspicion.

Bai Qingfan's eyes, height and build... were exactly the same as the man in white's.

Ning Chen slipped an arm around Xiao Yanxi as naturally as anything, looked at Bai Qingfan and said, all smiles, "Master Bai, you've had a long journey. This prince will hold a banquet tonight, and we'll drink a few cups together."

Bai Qingfan's brows drew together very slightly. He bowed. "Thank you, my lord prince!"

Ning Chen smiled easily. "You're Little Xixi's teacher, which makes you one of her elders. Holding a banquet for you is only right."

As he spoke, he gave Xiao Yanxi a pat on her pert backside. "Wife, find Master Bai a place to stay."

Xiao Yanxi blushed and glared at him.

But a muscle in Bai Qingfan's face twitched, and something vicious flashed deep in his eyes, though his face was back to normal a moment later.

"Teacher, come with me!"

Bai Qingfan nodded and followed Xiao Yanxi out.

Ning Chen narrowed his eyes and watched Bai Qingfan's back, laughing coldly to himself. He wanted to see how long this Bai Qingfan could keep up the act.

He was curious, though: where had Bai Qingfan's wounds gone?

Even with some miracle…
