The night was heavy, and wind and snow came together.

Ning Chen appeared in front of a walled residence.

"Younger Brother, those men went into this compound."

Xie Siyu said it quietly. He was long-limbed, and there was nothing warm in his face.

Xie Siyu had been back in the capital for some time.

When the Fifth Prince moved to seize power and usurp the throne, he had Guo Wuxiang beside him, a master above the ranks altogether.

When Ning Chen fought him, Guo Wuxiang had used the Ghost-Shadow Sect's Dragonfly Step.

Afterward Ning Chen wrote to Tao Xiuwu to ask about it.

Tao Xiuwu was afraid a letter would not explain it clearly, so he sent Xie Siyu to the capital to explain it in person.

But by the time Xie Siyu reached the capital, Ning Chen had gone to Xiliang to fetch the Untainted Ice Lotus for the Xuan Emperor, so there was nothing to do but wait until Ning Chen came back.

It turned out that Guo Wuxiang and Tao Xiuwu were of the same school, brothers under one master.

The old sect master had passed the Ghost-Shadow Sect on to Tao Xiuwu, and Guo Wuxiang left the Ghost-Shadow Sect in a rage over it.

How he came to know the Fifth Prince afterward was not clear, but with the backing of the Fifth Prince and the former Right Chancellor he founded the Dark Moon Tower.

Guo Wuxiang was the master of the Dark Moon Tower.

And in the end Ning Chen caught him out with a hand grenade and killed him.

Ning Chen looked at the residence in front of him with no expression at all. "Wait outside, all of you. I'm going in alone."

Xie Siyu gave a start. "Let me go in with you."

Ning Chen shook his head. He touched his toe to the ground and went over the top of the wall, moving like a dragon in water.

He came down inside the courtyard without a sound.

It was a two-court residence, and not large.
