Mu Yuanxin's voice shook. "The, the one who put me up to it is called... Yue Changming."

Ning Chen frowned slightly. He didn't know anyone by that name... Or maybe he did, and he'd forgotten.

So, without thinking, he looked at Xiao Yanxi.

Xiao Yanxi shook her head. She didn't know the name either.

Ning Chen turned to the old clan head and the others. "Do any of you know this man he's talking about?"

One after another, they shook their heads.

Ning Chen narrowed his eyes at Mu Yuanxin. The old geezer wasn't lying to him, was he?

"Mu Yuanxin, who is this Yue Changming you're talking about?"

Mu Yuanxin's voice quavered. "He, he's a merchant... He travels back and forth between the Wu Kingdom and Xuanwu City all the time, selling cloth."

Something about a man in the cloth trade rang a bell for Ning Chen, but for the moment he couldn't place it.

Xiao Yanxi looked thoughtful. She'd made the same connection. She lowered her voice and said to Ning Chen, "Do you remember Song Xiaoshuang, the woman you had General Pan look into?"

Ning Chen nodded. Xiao Yanxi had told him in detail everything that had happened lately, and he remembered this Song Xiaoshuang.

Xiao Yanxi said, "This Song Xiaoshuang deals in cloth, traveling back and forth between the Wu Kingdom and Xuanwu City... Maybe she's Yue Changming."

"Is she? We'll know once we ask." Ning Chen turned to Mu Yuanxin. "This Yue Changming of yours, man or woman? Tall or short, fat or thin? What does he look like?"

Mu Yuanxin was trembling. "I saw him once. Around thirty, with a face like jade in a cap. A rare beauty of a man."

Ning Chen frowned. In that case, Song Xiaoshuang and Yue Changming were two different people.

"How do you know Yue Changming? Why would you work for him?"

Mu Yuanxin looked torn, like a man who couldn't bring himself to say it.

Ning Chen's eyes went wide, and he looked disgusted. "Holy shit... What's with that face? Don't tell me you and this…
