Dae-hwang Jin, the President, was in the next seat, and he was every bit as startled.

He glanced over the SML people in front of him and spoke to Seong-ho Kim in a low voice.

"Nothing has been settled yet. And you want to sign an MOA straight off, without an MOU?"

Dae-hwang Jin had hold of his arm, and Seong-ho Kim tapped the hand lightly and spoke to the SML people across the table.

"The details are simple. The machines SML makes now and the machines it will make hereafter — we mean to buy all of them."

"All of them…… did you say all of them?"

"Yes. I want to buy three years of output, every unit of it."

"Three years of output……."

SML's CEO and CFO looked at each other and could say nothing at all.

It was the man who answered for Ilhyeon, of all people, who had stepped forward to say it, and so it did not sound like a lie.

But what they had heard was too preposterous to believe, and so neither a yes nor a thank-you would come out of them.

Seong-ho Kim laughed as though he understood SML's reaction, and went on.

"On top of that, I would like to take the EUV machine SML is developing now and develop it jointly."

"You want joint development?"

"Yes. We will put up the development money. In exchange, when the EUV machine is developed and goes into mass production, I would like priority."

"Priority…… are you really content with that? That is a condition in our favor, if anything."

"Hahaha. There is no telling. It may turn out well not only for SML but for us."
