"Then what is the plan from here?"
Sang-jong Lee, having found his steadiness, asked what was to be done next.
Seo-gang Won smiled as though it were nothing and said,
"President. In truth the flower of an operation may be said to lie in the selling."
"What do you mean by that?"
"In truth, had I told you this first, there would have been no occasion for you to come all this way… it is an oversight of mine."
"What in the world are you talking about? Put it so a man can follow it."
When Sang-jong Lee asked it with a face that did not follow, Seo-gang Won drew the pen and paper on the table toward himself.
And drawing the shape of a chart on the paper, he began to explain.
"In a situation where a stock is rising like this, there is a limit to how much stock you can shake off. It makes no odds to a private investor holding a few shares, but from the position of someone holding volume in bulk, as you are and as we are, it cannot easily be sold."
"And that is why you call it the flower of an operation?"
"Just so. Because the success of the operation is decided here. Driving the share price up like this—"
Seo-gang Won drew the shape of a rising chart on the paper.
"—anyone can do. With money and an account, even a beginner can do it all. But shaking off the volume you are holding is not a thing just anyone can do. It is here that the difference in experience shows."
Sang-jong Lee nodded with a face that had roughly understood.
"I see roughly what you mean. So tell me what you'll be doing now."
Seo-gang Won drew a line coming down from the high point of the chart.
And beneath it he began drawing a long row of bars that appeared to be trading volume.
Sang-jong Lee waited without a word for Seo-gang Won to finish the drawing.
