"What did you and Min-gu Noh talk about?"

In the car going back after the groundbreaking ceremony had ended, Tak-hyeon Lee asked Seong-ho Kim.

"From the look of it you seemed to be talking about something serious."

Seong-ho Kim could not answer the question at once.

"What is it? Did you really talk about something serious?"

In truth, Tak-hyeon Lee's asking what they had talked about was not because he was curious about that talk, but only in order to ask what the plans ahead were.

And yet at that question Seong-ho Kim could say nothing and only kept his head down, so to Tak-hyeon Lee it could not but feel strange.

"What did Min-gu Noh say, that you've nothing to say? Did he come out with something odd?"

Do-beom Hwang, seated in the passenger seat, kept his nerves sharply on edge and strained his ears.

"That's…"

Seong-ho Kim, who had kept his head lowered, slowly raised it as he spoke.

"President Min-gu Noh spoke about my second brother."

"You mean Sang-jong?"

"Yes."

"Why would Min-gu Noh talk about Sang-jong?"

Tak-hyeon Lee drew his brows into a hard knot.

"Didn't my brother's attending secretary cause an accident last year?"

Seong-ho Kim paused for a moment so that Tak-hyeon Lee could call Secretary Park to mind, and then slowly opened his mouth.

"And President Min-gu Noh let it be known indirectly that Secretary Park is saying strange things to the prosecution."

"What is that supposed to be? Tell it so I can follow properly."

At Tak-hyeon Lee's sharp voice, Do-beom Hwang instructed the driver to stop the car for a moment.

When the driver pulled the car up at the roadside, Do-beom Hwang got out with him and cleared the space so that Seong-ho Kim and Tak-hyeon Lee could talk in comfort.

Once only Tak-hyeon Lee was left in the car with him, Seong-ho Kim glanced round outside for a moment and then passed on what Min-gu Noh had said.

Tak-hyeon Lee, having listened for a good while, screwed his face up hard.

"So Secretary Park's account is that Sang-jong put…
