When Seong-ho Kim's promotion to Vice-Chairman was announced in Ilhyeon Group's new presidential-slate personnel announcement, the market looked upon Ilhyeon Group with a gaze mixing surprise and expectation.

They felt surprise that Seong-ho Kim's promotion to Vice-Chairman meant there would now be two Vice-Chairmen, and along with it they sent their expectations toward Ilhyeon Electronics' bold strides from here on.

But this surprise and expectation quickly died down before a far larger issue.

"Will you be all right today?"

Seong-ho Kim looked at Tak-hyeon Lee with worried eyes and then looked up at the sky.

"There's no cloud, so the sunlight is fierce. As the Blue House staff said, why not sit up on the platform?"

"Why would I go up there?"

Tak-hyeon Lee gestured with his chin at the platform where a canopy had been spread.

And with a snort he spoke.

"Would it do for me to go and perch myself in a seat meant for people who live off the government's stipend on the strength of being a bit advanced in years?"

"Even so, the other chairmen are…"

"Those fellows are screws-loose types who imagine they've been of enormous help to the country, that's why. Are they the same as me? I'm a man who ran a business for myself, not for the nation's development. It may be that I happened, along the way, to contribute to the country's economic development, but that's no more than incidental income. I worked for my own sake, so there's no reason to be praised for it."

In a word, Tak-hyeon Lee had turned the businessmen seated up on the platform beneath the awning into screws-loose…
