It was only as the murky darkness gave way to morning that Seong-ho Kim finally made it back home.

"You must be exhausted."

"You didn't sleep?"

"I woke up partway through."

"You must not have slept well, because of me."

"It's fine."

Gyeong-eun Lee said it was fine, took Seong-ho Kim's coat from him, and said.

"If anything, you're the one going through trouble because of my family. I'm sorry."

"Isn't there a saying that if you marry a pretty wife, you'll even bow to her family's fence post? I don't think of it as trouble at all."

"Thank you."

Then, hanging up the coat she'd taken from him, she finally asked why he'd been called out so late at night.

"So why did Oppa take you out with him? Did something really serious happen?"

"If you call it serious, then yes, it's serious."

Seong-ho Kim gave Gyeong-eun Lee a brief account of what had happened with Jun-myeong Lee.

"So you're the one who told him to swap out the driver?"

"When he asked me for a way, all I said was that you can't hide an accident, but you can hide a person."

"That's the same thing, isn't it?"

"No, it's not. I made a point of telling him that, for his own sake, he should report it and have Jun-myeong turn himself in."

At Seong-ho Kim's words — that he'd urged Sang-jong Lee to report it — Gyeong-eun Lee let out a sigh of relief.

Seong-ho Kim, seeing how Gyeong-eun Lee's face had tensed, smiled and said.

"How could I possibly have said out loud that we should swap out the driver? If I had, I could've ended up tangled up in this whole thing myself."
