Managing Director Un-ho Jeong went into Seong-ho Kim's office holding the documents.
"Is it all finished?"
Seong-ho Kim asked from where he sat.
Un-ho Jeong glanced for a moment at Gi-myeong Lee, President of the Wireless Business Division, seated opposite Seong-ho Kim, and answered.
"Yes. It's concluded."
Then he set the documents he had brought in front of Seong-ho Kim and said:
"This is what was agreed with the union leadership. They agreed to proceed almost entirely as you proposed. The union went so far as to request the insertion of clauses that would let it take root in the company's wage system."
"The union must have been satisfied as well."
Seong-ho Kim nodded as though he had expected it and looked over the documents.
"It won't happen, but even so — to set the union's mind at rest, let's insert a clause requiring that this agreement be maintained for a minimum of five years."
"Yes. Understood."
"And announce it at once, for implementation from next year."
Seong-ho Kim held the documents back out to Un-ho Jeong.
Then he pointed a finger at the empty seat and said:
"Don't stand about like that — sit. Your legs will ache."
Taking the documents, Un-ho Jeong looked back and forth between the empty seat and President Gi-myeong Lee opposite with a troubled expression.
"Whether I ought to be here…"
"It's quite all right, so sit."
At Seong-ho Kim's repeated instruction, Managing Director Un-ho Jeong made an awkward bow to Gi-myeong Lee and sat down across from him.
Gi-myeong Lee had been sitting there with a dark expression from the moment Un-ho Jeong entered.
Un-ho Jeong looked at him with something like curiosity — a man who simply sat there no matter what Seong-ho Kim and Un-ho Jeong said to each other.

Gi-myeong Lee's expression made it clear he was in a highly uncomfortable position.
