Seong-ho savored the astonished, stunned faces for a moment, then spoke again.

"Ilhyeon Heavy Industries' current order backlog stands at roughly 30 trillion won — five years' worth of work, stacked and waiting."

"Five years' worth…"

"Thirty trillion already booked?"

"Is that true?"

The atmosphere was nothing like the presentations before his.

Until now, questions had come only after a presentation ended, and even those had mostly come from Tak-hyeon; the seated presidents had shown no reaction at all.

Ilhyeon Heavy Industries was different.

Unable to believe what they'd heard, they muttered aloud without meaning to, and several, forgetting a presentation was underway, put questions to Seong-ho outright.

"I'll say it once more."

Do-beom stepped in.

"All questions after the presentation concludes. Please remember that the Vice-Chairman and the Chairman are present."

The murmuring settled.

In the quiet, Seong-ho gave a small bow of thanks and continued.

"Improvements to the working environment through the Goliath crane have dramatically increased Ilhyeon Heavy Industries' output. And those improvements are ongoing. The five years' backlog I mentioned is calculated against current output. If we continue improving, I expect we can bring it down to as little as three."

The presidents said nothing, but they could not conceal their astonishment.

Their breathing grew rough, their mouths worked as though they had a great deal to say, and they stared at him.

Feeling the room boiling, Seong-ho went on.

"Ilhyeon Heavy Industries' targets five years out are 15 trillion won in revenue and 4 trillion in operating profit."

It was not an explosive figure.

Not a multiplication in five years, but roughly 50 percent above current levels.

Yet everyone present knew that this target was harder than Ilhyeon Globevision's.

Because they knew better than anyone how difficult it is for a large company in a mature industry to grow 10 percent a year.

And that was not the end of it.

"Of course, that too is projected against current conditions. As I said, if our continued improvement bears fruit, the projection rises. I'd ask you to understand that the target I've given is a conservative…
