When Seong-ho hung up the phone and rose from bed, Gyeong-eun pushed herself half upright.
"What on earth kind of call was that?"
Gyeong-eun looked at Seong-ho, puzzled, and asked, "Why would the hotel call you about a hotel problem, and where are you going at this hour? Don't tell me you're going to the hotel."
Getting out of bed, Seong-ho kissed Gyeong-eun's forehead and tucked the blanket properly around her as he spoke. "A guest staying at the hotel has caused a problem. It seems I'll have to go check on it and deal with it myself."
"Who on earth was staying there?"
"Seon-myeong is staying there."
"Seon-myeong? Big Brother's Seon-myeong?"
Gyeong-eun looked at Seong-ho, startled.
Seong-ho gave her a faint smile and said, "I heard not long ago that Seon-myeong caused trouble at a club, so I told him that if he was going to do that sort of thing, he should give my name and go play at the hotel instead. That way, even if something happened, we could clean it up ourselves."
Gyeong-eun nodded at his words. If he really had caused trouble, she thought, Seong-ho's judgment had been the right one. But she couldn't imagine what kind of trouble would be serious enough to warrant a call in the dead of night.
"Just… what kind of trouble did he cause?"
"I imagine I won't know myself until I get there. So don't worry, and go back to sleep."
Gyeong-eun felt bad that Seong-ho was being called out in the middle of the night over her nephew.
Seong-ho kissed her lightly once more and said, "Your nephew is my nephew too. It'll be a good while yet before sunrise, so rest well."
