"One moment."

Seong-ho raised a hand and told Director Jeong-seop Yun to wait. Then he lifted the phone on one side of the desk and dialed a number.

The line rang and the other party soon picked up.

"Hey, Dae-su. It's me. Busy these days?"

Having greeted Dae-su Park briefly, Seong-ho got straight to the reason for the call.

"I was hoping you'd take on a case for us. Yeah. Yeah. Embezzlement's fine, breach of trust is fine, fraud's fine, illegal misappropriation's fine… if there's a crime that fits your investigation, handle it as you see fit. Right. Right. Then I'll send the materials over right away, so handle it however works and just let me know the result."

Finishing the call, Seong-ho set down the receiver, wrote something on a memo pad, and held the memo out to Jeong-seop Yun.

Yun carefully took the memo Seong-ho handed over and asked,

"What is this?"

"Pass the materials over to there."

"By materials… do you mean the materials on General Manager Seong?"

"Yes. They'll handle the rest over there."

Yun looked down at the memo with a puzzled gaze, wondering where it was that you had only to hand over materials for it to get taken care of.

"Prosecutor Dae-su Park, Special Investigation Division 2, Seoul District Prosecutors' Office. The Special Investigation Division? You mean to hand the materials to the Special Investigation Division?"

"If the investigation's over, punishment ought to follow. Just tell the secretariat this is my decision."

Director Jeong-seop Yun wore a startled expression. Because Seong-ho's judgment — answering the secretariat's question of what to do by handing the materials to the prosecutors — was a surprise.

"Do that, and the rest will sort itself out."

"Yes. Understood."

Yun answered that he understood and left Seong-ho's office.

Seong-ho looked at the door Jeong-seop Yun had left through and muttered to himself,

"Pyeongchang-dong's going to get noisy on Sunday."

Seong-ho figured that this decision would make for a raucous day in Pyeongchang-dong.

"But what to do — there's something even noisier happening elsewhere."
