Evil-Eye Monkey, the moment he stepped onto the field, got savagely beaten.
And what was struck was his most prized, most intolerable-of-injury feature — his eye. His fury blazed all the higher.
Faster than lightning, Evil-Eye Monkey struck back. His fists came in a storm-and-tempest barrage aimed at little sister Death Reaper Mantis’s body. In this moment, whether great beauty or lesser beauty was all so much noise. Provoke him — a Five Sense General — and it wouldn’t matter if it were one woman or one whole nation; both would be destroyed under his fists!
Boom!
What Evil-Eye Monkey couldn’t believe — in his blind rage, the fist he threw…
Was actually caught by this seemingly frail, easily-blown-over little girl in front of him.
First his left fist.
Then his right fist — likewise grabbed and held.
After his left fist was caught, Evil-Eye Monkey’s first response was to slam his right fist in with all his strength, without any awareness of how the other had managed to catch him. Even when the right fist was also caught, his brain couldn’t process it — he simply raised a leg for a vicious flying kick. Behind him, Long-Tongue Lizard and Slug were still in their secret negotiations, discussing how they’d divide up the women once captured, not noticing that Evil-Eye Monkey had been beaten the instant he stepped out, both fists snatched too… His kick struck through the residual after-image of little sister Death Reaper Mantis, and the smug snarl on his face was still blooming when Weilai used the enemy’s own arms as levers, flipped, and drove her long legs like spears squarely into Evil-Eye Monkey’s face.
Evil-Eye Monkey felt agony pierce his heart and lungs — he felt as though two enormous hammers had crashed into the bones of his face.
Blood spurted from his mouth.
Several shattered teeth clattered onto the floor.
But both his arms were still in Weilai’s grip. After counter-striking his face with her legs, she twisted, and using the Mysterious Three Forms Yue Yang had taught her — leveraging the “four ounces moving a thousand pounds” principle — she carried the blood-streaming Evil-Eye Monkey with her, and slammed him against the ceiling of the hovering mothership’s inner corridor with a thunderous crash.
Long-Tongue Lizard and Slug heard the noise and looked up.
They saw Evil-Eye Monkey, powerless, come falling down from the ceiling — and then, kicked by that seemingly frail little girl in mid-air, sent flying ten meters and slammed against a cabin door.
The cabin door shattered into fragments.
Evil-Eye Monkey rocketed into the cabin like a cannonball.
Seeing all this, Long-Tongue Lizard rubbed his eyes and then asked Slug, “I’m not seeing things, am I?”
“Illusion — this has to be an illusion!” Slug likewise couldn’t believe that Evil-Eye Monkey, one of the Five Sense Generals, could be beaten to disorientation by an unknown little girl. This was impossible!
After a long while.
A bloody hand appeared on the cabin doorframe — it was Evil-Eye Monkey, whom Weilai had beaten until he vomited blood.
His savage face followed, veins bulging. His eyeball — originally three times the size of an ordinary man’s — was now more swollen than ever, protruding out past his cheeks. Because of his rage, it was filled with bloodshot streaks and light of pure hatred. When Evil-Eye Monkey opened his mouth to spit curses, several fragments of tooth dripped down with the blood and fell onto the floor. Under Long-Tongue Lizard’s and Slug’s disbelieving expressions, those blood-stained tooth fragments looked especially striking!
Long-Tongue Lizard still didn’t quite believe it. He probed: “You’re injured?”
Evil-Eye Monkey cursed loudly.
Filthy language, foul words.
Little sister Death Reaper Mantis Weilai frowned. Her two hands traced several rune diagrams in empty air.
The rune diagrams interwove into a formation.
Radiant, brilliant, silver light shimmered dot by dot between her ten fingers. She reached out and touched Evil-Eye Monkey’s mouth. Evil-Eye Monkey opened and closed his mouth — but found he could not make a single sound. Just like a mute. He reached his hand into his mouth and dug around, but a mouth sealed by the Heavenly Realm rune diagram “Silence” could not be undone by external force.
“…” The wordless Evil-Eye Monkey, unable even to curse, grew more furious than ever — more violent than a volcano forcefully sealed by external power.
He gathered every ounce of his strength and hurled himself at little sister Death Reaper Mantis.
This one strike.
Concentrated the greatest power he possessed as a divine general.
Every enemy previously weaker than Evil-Eye Monkey had fallen to this single strike — not one survived!
The little Weilai, though, was unruffled. She slid back a step, her domain force and Sovereign Intent erupting. Evil-Eye Monkey suddenly felt himself in the middle of an invisible force field with enormous resistance. His lightning-fast pounce grew slower and slower. Even when he was only three meters from Weilai, his lightning speed had turned into a tortoise’s crawl, advancing barely an inch per second toward the slowly-retreating Weilai. Evil-Eye Monkey had already exploded with his full power, but the invisible force field seemed to be filled with countless chains binding and pulling at his body — every inch of movement cost him all his effort.
In the sky above, a golden Death Reaper Mantis colossus appeared.
Furious-eyed, ready to seize.
Its golden twin scythes stretched forth, and with irresistible might they caught Evil-Eye Monkey’s charging body.
Evil-Eye Monkey struggled desperately, to no effect… this kind of seizure could not be broken by mere strength. This was Weilai’s personal Sovereign Intent combined with her innate talent-skill and her domain characteristic — a “seizure” that not even a giant dragon could break free of!
The golden Death Reaper Mantis colossus not only caught Evil-Eye Monkey — like a dragon-eater feasting.
It lowered its head and bit down.
Evil-Eye Monkey’s skullcap was chewed away, his eyeballs burst, brain matter flew everywhere.
But he did not die. He was still struggling desperately. And because his mouth was sealed by the “Silence” rune, his agony had no way to be vented through screams and wails. It accumulated inside Evil-Eye Monkey’s chest cavity, pent up until his whole body was on the verge of exploding! Of course, Evil-Eye Monkey — who possessed forbidden power fused with war-beast attributes — would not die that easily.
Great volumes of black smoke poured from his skull.
Except at the point where the Death Reaper Mantis colossus’s scythes held him, his body dissolved into black mist.
A pair of blood-red eyeballs emerged from within the black mist, gleaming with sinister demonic light, fixed on little sister Death Reaper Mantis Weilai’s eyes — piercing straight into her innermost heart!
This was Evil-Eye Monkey’s greatest killing move!
Evil-Eye Burst!
Under the gaze of Evil-Eye Burst, any life would destroy itself through its own murderous heart. The greater the murderous heart, the faster the destruction, the more agonizing the death! Evil-Eye Monkey rarely used this move against enemies — not because it lacked power. On the contrary, the move was so overwhelming that Evil-Eye Monkey didn’t want it recognized and countered from frequent use… This had always been his secret weapon, deployed only in the most crucial moments.
Right now, Evil-Eye Monkey was in no mortal danger, but this was intolerably suffocating.
Without hesitation he used his greatest killing move against little sister Death Reaper Mantis: Evil-Eye Burst!
He didn’t care whether Long-Tongue Lizard, Slug, or the enemies opposite would recognize and crack the move as a result. He couldn’t afford to think about it. All the current Evil-Eye Monkey wanted was to kill this hateful little girl immediately — he couldn’t stand her being alive for even a second longer.
A murderous heart.
Everyone had one. The difference was only degree.
Combat-type warriors especially had powerful murderous hearts. If you were too gentle and couldn’t strike out at an enemy, how could you even step onto a battlefield? So Evil-Eye Monkey had never worried that his Evil-Eye Burst would fail. On the contrary, it was near-invincible. Except for a god, or a person possessing an undying body, once any life caught this killing move — death was certain!
Die, die, die, die…
Starting from your eyes — swell, then burst, and then let your body burst along with them, blown apart by the murderous heart swelling madly inside you!
Though his mouth was sealed by Silence and he could make no sound, the gradually-recomposing Evil-Eye Monkey inside the black mist still couldn’t help the smug madness in his heart.
What in this world could be more satisfying than seeing the enemy you hate to the bone die miserably before your eyes?
Seeing Evil-Eye Monkey use his killing move, Long-Tongue Lizard and Slug exchanged smiles. It’s over. Once this move was played, none survived. No matter how strong or how weak, no enemy could resist — because the enemy was not killed by external force, but died directly of their own limitlessly-swelling “murderous heart.” In a word, they were killing themselves. No one could stop them. No external force could stop them either!
“Heart still as water.” Little sister Death Reaper Mantis Weilai closed her eyes and formed the rune seals Yue Yang had personally taught her, gently exhaling a breath.
From within her exhaled breath.
A blood-red demonic-eye skull was spat out.
That demonic-eye skull, spat into midair, opened its mouth and bit wildly, trying to drill back into little sister Death Reaper Mantis’s body.
But that was impossible… Weilai extended a pale little hand and lightly pointed at the demonic-eye skull. The golden Ancient Gods’ Radiance fixed the originally-formless demonic-eye skull into physical substance. In the sky, the outer Death Reaper Mantis colossus, as though a guardian deity unable to tolerate its junior being harmed by an enemy, angrily stretched down its giant scythe, caught the demonic-eye skull, opened its enormous mouth, and bit the demonic-eye skull to pieces in one bite — chewing and swallowing it whole!
BOOM!
A great sound erupted from Evil-Eye Monkey’s body.
Not from his silenced mouth — but directly out of his chest cavity.
At the heart’s position, a huge black heart, along with pieces of lung and broken ribs, blasted through his chest and abdomen, falling onto the floor.
In excruciating pain, Evil-Eye Monkey still tried to reach out to grab it back. On the floor, that black heart was still leaping, beating, its function unlost. Above the black heart there was a strange black smoke, protecting it… Just as Evil-Eye Monkey was about to retrieve the heart, a foot stomped heavily down on it, crushing the black heart into pulp.
That foot came down so hard the entire Tange shook and trembled.
The power was such that even a mountain could be trod flat.
Let alone a black heart!
At the very instant of Evil-Eye Monkey’s added agony, a hand reached over and grabbed his collar. Then he heard a furious voice: “Overreaching fool, look me in the eyes!”
He instinctively raised his head.
Evil-Eye Monkey saw a woman with horns on her head glaring at him with abnormal fury.
Something seemed to flash through the world of the soul.
His soul burned in pain.
His consciousness snuffed out in an instant.
Evil-Eye Monkey collapsed limply onto the floor. His soul had been one-shotted by A-Man’s “Death Gaze.” Only his undying body — sustained by forbidden power — remained alive… His body had not died the way most did after a death gaze; his body was still living, and the forbidden power and fused war-beast had indeed given him a near-undying frame — but it was only a lump of meat, no different from dead!
“What happened?” Long-Tongue Lizard felt utterly confused. Evil-Eye Monkey, who always killed enemies with his pupil-power, had died — and died beneath another’s eye gaze? Really strange, what the hell was going on here?
“That horned girl also excels at pupil-power — it must be that!” Slug cried out. It was also his first time seeing the greatest-pupil-power Evil-Eye Monkey stared to death by someone else!
“Aside from pupil-power, sonic waves work too!” A voice whispered by Long-Tongue Lizard’s and Slug’s ears.
No time to turn and look.
No time to flee, either!
Long-Tongue Lizard’s and Slug’s ears burst apart.
They heard a shriek piercing enough to shatter the soul — a “Banshee’s Scream”…
