"The champagne is good."
"Is it?"
"This one was made properly, in Champagne."
"Excuse me?"
Robert was startled.
Until yesterday, the Boss had known only that wine came in red and white.
When asked a few questions to gauge his taste, the Boss hadn't known a thing.
And yet overnight, he had the air of an expert.
As soon as breakfast was over, he'd asked for champagne as a dessert wine.
"It made a charming sound the moment the cork came out. And a faint wisp of vapor rose up. Bubbles as clear as glass beads, and a special aroma carrying the smell of its home soil... Only Champagne, the home of the finest sparkling wine, makes one like this."
"Ah!"
Robert was truly impressed.
Without even looking at the label, the Boss had pinned down something remarkable.

People judged your class by the habits drilled into you since childhood.
On that score, the Boss today looked more than qualified to join high society.
First he examined the color and clarity of the wine in the glass with his eyes.
Next he breathed in the bouquet.
Last, he held a light sip in his mouth and tasted it.
His verdict on the wine came almost at the same moment.
"The Comté is beautifully aged too."
Comté, even! That's the Boss for you!
Along with Camembert and Brie, Comté is one of France's three great cheeses, with a long history.
People in the Comté region of the French Alps started making it a thousand years ago.
Aged five to twelve months from cow's milk, Comté has a nutty, walnut aroma and a floral flavor all its own.
The standards are strict: only about five percent of the cheese made each year passes the quality bar.
The Boss finished his champagne with Comté, like an aristocrat who loves his wine.
"It's made from grapes grown well in top-grade grand cru vineyards on pure chalk soil. From the elegance and the delicacy, it's a blanc…
