Fwsss—
Between the white clouds and the blue sky hung a small, slight figure. Her jet-black robe snapped in the wind, its dark-gold rune patterns winding over it like clouds, like dragons, lending it a touch of grandeur.
She looked down, quiet.
On the land and water below, a powerful beast was running for its life. It had the look of a kirin, yet none of a kirin's auspicious calm: ink-black from head to tail, cloaked in long plumes, it ran as though riding cloud and mist. It was a Calamity Kirin.
By now the Calamity Kirin was wounded all over, its aura as weak as it could get. It was plainly on the brink of death.
“Hhh! Hhh!”
It panted hard and threw a terrified look up at the figure in the sky that would not stop chasing it.
Weren't they saying the Myriad Demon Hall liked to take demons in? Yet this one had come out killing the moment she appeared, and hadn't said a single word from start to finish!
And she was obviously Heaven Realm. Even with its black-cloud divine ability let loose, it couldn't shake her.
“I'm willing… I'm willing to join the Myr—”
The small figure in the sky had suddenly vanished from where she hung. Under that terrifying pressure the Calamity Kirin's pupils shrank to pinpoints; Beihong pride no longer mattered, and all it could think of was staying alive.
The words weren't all the way out before a small hand, pale and soft, was filling its vision—as if it had reached straight through the void—and coming down over its forehead.
A palm like a little child's, and yet it carried boundless might, as if heaven and earth were toppling onto it!
The Calamity Kirin's breath stopped short. Even its heart stopped beating. No thought of resisting would come. Its snarling face froze, and its pupils slowly lost their focus.
She didn't want to beat it into submission! She really meant to kill it!
The next instant a roar exploded in its ears, and then it couldn't hear anything at all, as if…
