Absorb, release.

The surface fire river turned out to gather Firestarter energy too, drawing it into the lava. It absorbed far faster than it released, which meant this surface fire river would pull in huge amounts of Firestarter energy from all the land around it.

"If the ground were covered in surface fire rivers like this, it wouldn't be long before all the Firestarter energy was plundered. In the end, with no Firestarter energy left, the release of Activity would be choked off."

Shen Cong was getting a little ahead of himself.

Either way, the disaster was gradually passing. It had been fiercer than the ones before and had nearly turned the land upside down. But it fell far short of the earth-shattering catastrophe he had imagined. The Earth was still the Earth, at least. The disaster had only wrecked the surface.

The thought lightened his mood. "I should give this surface fire river a name... This is the Gangnan area of Guigang. No, wait, the last time I got a fix from the Super-Thunder Wave Navigator, this should be where Dongjin Town in Gangnan District meets Dawan Town in Guiping City. Once he had named it, Shen Cong shouted to Brother Dao, who was watching the show from the bank. "Brother Dao, this lava river is called the Yujinwan Raised Fire River. Remember that."

Brother Dao froze for a few seconds. "What kind of junk name is that? No taste at all. It should be called the Brother Dao Super-Flashy Lava River!"

Shen Cong ignored Brother Dao's opinion. The surface fire river's name was settled. All that was left was to have it officially recorded once the Super-Thunder Wave station came back.
