Chapter 611 – Head and Shoulders Above Them All

The Firestarter Spirit began to squirm, its aura sharply strengthening, radiative fluctuation spilling out fast through everything around it. Long ago, facing a Firestarter Spirit, Shen Cong had been unable to catch the track of that radiative fluctuation; here and now, radiative fluctuation held no secrets from him at all.

If he wanted, he could even infect the Firestarter Spirit's radiative fluctuation directly and cut off its pull on evolved individuals.

But Shen Cong didn't do it.

He only stood above the fissure and waited to see how the Firestarter Spirit would change.

Last time he'd been wholly occupied with killing the Firestarter Spirit and eating it quickly, and hadn't observed its changes closely. Now the chance had come again, and of course he wouldn't let it pass.

A great deal of the time, the role he played was that of an observer.

Observing the secrets evolution laid bare moment by moment, and applying the secrets he observed to himself.

The Firestarter Spirit pushed rock and soil apart and climbed upward by squirming, faster and faster. The nearer it came to the surface, the fiercer the radiative fluctuation it gave off; one could imagine that every powerful evolved individual within a hundred li could already sense that lethally attractive fluctuation.

Ten minutes later.

The first evolved beast drawn in appeared within the Third Eye Radar's range.

It wasn't hard to guess: it was the Sea Snake King Shen Cong had frightened off, coming with the ultimate-grade and super-grade yellow-bellied sea snakes under it. Catching sight of Shen Cong from far off, the Sea Snake King stopped at once and took a roundabout path to the far side of the fissure—plainly it had come to fear him.

Shen Cong didn't drive the Sea Snake King away; under these conditions, driving it away wasn't possible anyway.

The Firestarter Spirit's pull was simply too strong—it drove evolved beasts mad. One look at the four-legged dragon and Yellow Great-Immortal was enough to tell: their eyes were shining too, fixed on the fissure.

In fact Shen Cong suspected they could no longer digest fire-spirit medium…
