Chasing the stream up toward the hilltop, Shen Cong had no idea which part of Mount Tai this belonged to. Comparing it against the map, it might have been the Caishi Creek area, and the stream might have been Caishi Creek itself.
But the apocalyptic storm had remade the face of the land, and Mount Tai had changed enormously. There was no saying for certain that this watercourse was Caishi Creek at all.
The four-legged dragon gave chase from behind, and the Slime ran upstream against the current.
One chasing, one fleeing, and before long they had reached the summit, where the stream issued out from a jumble of rocks. The turbid black water went down through the gaps between the stones, all of it burrowing into the mountain, and in a moment it had vanished from Shen Cong's sight.
"All gone... Bobo..." The four-legged dragon raked the loose rock aside with its claws. There was nothing but stone. No sign of the Slime anywhere.
Shen Cong jumped down, looked at the hilltop where the water seeped out, and gave his order to the four-legged dragon without much hesitation. "Little Four, dig here. Just dig. Make the hole big."
The four-legged dragon loved digging.
Hearing Shen Cong's order, it rumbled twice and immediately set its claws to work on the rock.
Its jin-core claws touched off their sharpening reaction, and cutting stone went as fast as cutting bean curd. Inside a few moments the four-legged dragon had opened an enormous pit in the hilltop. Shen Cong directed from one side, guiding it to dig downward along the run of the water. Deeper and deeper it went, water still welling up, and still no Slime to be found.
Shen Cong was unmoved. "Just dig!"
The four-legged dragon threw everything into it, and the rock it hauled out rolled away down the streambed like a mudslide. It kept on that way for twenty-odd minutes and dug out an enormous semicircular hole more than a hundred meters deep, hollowing out the entire hilltop. Even evolved to an ultimate-grade jin beast, the four-legged dragon…
