Having fused Vajra's blood, the brand-new metal-iron got a new name — metal-steel.
Steel and iron form a single word, but steel and iron differ somewhat. Iron is a pure metallic element. Steel is an iron alloy mixed with some carbon, silicon, and other elements.
Metal-iron fused with Vajra's blood was no longer pure metal-iron either, so metal-steel was the more fitting name.
The discovery of metal-steel was, without question, a major evolution for the Great Vajra. Though for now it looked like nothing more than softening the Great Vajra's metal-iron, the ability to be soft or hard at will could serve a far greater purpose. In defense, metal-steel was absolutely superior to metal-iron — even to the grade of a high-quality jin core.
Shen Cong ran a rough check: metal-steel's defensive grade was roughly equivalent to a super-grade jin beast's jin core.
Which meant that unless it was a high-grade jin core, breaching the Great Vajra's defense would be very difficult.
Mid- and low-grade evolved beasts basically couldn't inflict any harm on the Great Vajra at all.
With higher defense, the Great Vajra's capacity for head-on brute-force clashes would be developed; ramming power would become the new Great Vajra's specialty going forward.
That was the benefit of metal-steel.
At the same time, the discovery and use of metal-steel opened a new door for Shen Cong — since mercury could be absorbed to form metal-steel, might there be another substance that could be absorbed to form another metal-steel of different structure and properties?
"Absolutely possible. Carrier vehicles have been, from the very start, like incomplete life. They have a devouring desire toward other iron cores, toward natural carrier vehicles, toward Vajra's blood — and perhaps, upon encountering new metallic materials, they'll have a devouring desire again."
Shen Cong pondered briefly, then decided to give metal-steel a new name — mercury metal-steel.
Signifying that the present metal-steel was metal-steel fused from absorbed Vajra's blood.
"At the current absorption speed, it's three hours for a fingernail's worth. To absorb a sufficient amount of Vajra's blood would take no short time. And I…
