Shen Cong's plan was simple.
Didn't the Liaoning have a Z-18F that could fly? Retrofitting it into a totem helicopter on the spot was unrealistic — after all, this was a flying machine, and all sorts of aerodynamic performance had to be considered. But the Eastern Theater Command could collect every bit of fuel it could to keep the Z-18F flying — it was a carrier vehicle, anyway, its engine's tolerance very strong.
Scrape together the fuel for one round trip, and they could rely on the Z-18F to bring over a few dozen of the Liaoning's super-grade iron people.
Scrape together fuel for two round trips, and they could bring back even more iron people or powerful jin people.
Add a portion of the Eastern Theater Command's own comparatively strong iron people and jin people, and with the two forces merged into one, they could perfectly well take the initiative to clear out the super-grade jin beasts in the region between Lianyungang and Donghai County.
"By then I'll hold the rear as backup, first clear out the super-grade jin beasts, and as for the one remaining ultimate-grade jin beast, the saltwater croc — I've got ideas for dealing with it too. If nothing else, I can use a large quantity of iron fruit to lure the saltwater croc away. That way, all the Liaoning has left in front of it is the harbor's jin beasts."
"I trust the Liaoning has the ability to hunt at sea, so dealing with the harbor's jin beasts should be doable too. Even in the most dangerous scenario, they could set off a nuke in the harbor — an underwater nuclear blast, with relatively less contamination. As for whether it'd pollute the ocean, well, humans can't go out to sea for the time being anyway."
Shen Cong's proposal wasn't especially brilliant.
In fact a fair number of staff officers had already put forward a similar plan earlier; they just couldn't settle on how to handle Shen Cong, not knowing whether he'd be willing to take part in the rescue.
Since he was willing, everything…
