When the news that they were putting tens of trillions of won into a business called foundry work hit the market, the papers were plastered with stories about Ilhyeon Electronics.

The industry looked on with expectation and fear at the same time.

There was hope that going into foundry work with the know-how built up in memory could be a fine opportunity, but with it came the worry: could they run a foundry business, which would take pouring out astronomical sums again, alongside a memory business already swallowing sums just as large?

Still, everyone agreed it was a decision that would do the Republic of Korea a great deal of good.

Because building foundry plants after the memory plants would plainly make Ilhyeon a great pillar holding up the construction economy.

On top of that, a good many people took an interest in what Seong-ho Kim had said at the meeting.

Day after day, news praising Ilhyeon poured out, and with it Ilhyeon's image, which had looked nothing but bad all this while, improved a good deal.

"People have begun to think of Ilhyeon Electronics not simply as a company but as the representative face of the Republic of Korea. It strikes me that Seong-ho is really doing a great thing."

Do-beom Hwang said it with a pleased expression.

"There's a phrase, sejeijae. To save the world through wealth. He's following it very well indeed."
