"G-Goryeo celadon! A-Ari……"

Kang Pilseong barely caught himself as his body staggered with the shock.

His granddaughter Kang Ari had been so happy at the news that she could go to Sokcho soon.

The closer the day came, the closer he watched the safe.

A granddaughter who knows nothing whatever about how the world works. She could pull off another disaster, the way she did last time.

Nothing had happened all this while, and he had even started to think he was overdoing it. And sure enough, the worry came true.

He was out for a moment, a very short moment, and it happened.

He had a regular checkup scheduled and went to the hospital.

The granddaughter who had seen him off smiling brightly that morning was a little suspicious, and he had trusted her anyway. Or maybe he had wanted to trust her more than anything.

He came home and it was gone clean away.

Kang Ari's hanger-on An Aram was gone too. And she had taken the live-in driver and bodyguard along with her.

There was no sound of anybody in the house. He checked the safe first, and it was gone.

The Goryeo celadon teapot set, which had certainly been sitting there in state, was nowhere to be seen.

Put it in front of the world and it would be treated as a national treasure that same moment. That is what it is worth.

There is a great deal to say about that piece.

It was spirited away during the Japanese occupation to be shipped to Japan, and a dealer in this country bought it for a great sum.

It came down in the dealer's family as an heirloom through the generations, and in the grandson's time it went to Kang Pilseong as security against a loan for a business.

A treasure he had cherished more than the white porcelain he sent as tribute to Ha Tae-ung's housewarming!

What is it worth? There is no measuring it.

Its condition is more perfect than the Goryeo celadon kept in the National Museum of Korea.
