Xu Ye had only just sat down.

Jiang Wei asked him straight out, "Say it. What did you call me out here for?"

Xu Ye hadn't intended to circle around it anyway. He laughed. "I'm not having you run the trading company anymore."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

Jiang Wei's expression changed on the spot. She thought Xu Ye was firing her.

She had been doing perfectly well at the company, and she was a shareholder in it herself, so of course she wasn't happy about it.

"Don't get worked up. Hear me out first."

Xu Ye poked a finger through the film covering the bowls and chopsticks, and while he rinsed them with hot water he said, "I'm putting an investment company together. I want the three of you on the team."

Before any of them could speak, he went on. "The vending machines are already about as far as they can expand. If you stay at the school you'll get stability and not one bit of improvement in your own abilities. The investment company I'm setting up has registered capital of ten million. If you join this team, both your pay and your future prospects will be better than they are now."

Zhang Xinzhou picked the thread up quickly. "Let me state my position first. I'm obviously going with Xu Ye. This guy became a multi-millionaire off playing the stock market. Starting a business alongside him can't possibly do me any harm."

Li Tongwen was about to speak and stopped himself; hearing Jiang Wei speak up first, he swallowed the words back down.

Jiang Wei asked, "Then what happens to the trading company?"

"Simple. Find somebody reliable at the school to take over your work."

"When did you make that much money?"

Xu Ye said with a laugh, "Just luck."

Xu Ye put it that simply, but Zhang Xinzhou, Li Tongwen and Jiang Wei all knew that was only modesty talking.
