"How has it turned out?"

"The three broadcasters and some hundred domestic and foreign press outlets have indicated that two hundred people in all will attend."

"Two hundred? Why are so many coming? Don't take in every useless outlet — accept only the major press."

"That… the hundred-odd are the major press only."

Jeong-cheol Choi faltered a moment at the Secretariat man's answer.

"You mean a hundred-odd even after picking and choosing?"

"Yes. Twenty major domestic outlets and eighty foreign ones. All of them the leading press of their countries. If anything we are in difficulty because another twenty or so have come asking separately. They carry names too weighty to turn away."

Jeong-cheol Choi let out a short sigh.

"Hoo… this will be no small business."

"Chief. I think you had better see this."

Another Secretariat man came up to Jeong-cheol Choi, who had been picturing the Ilhyeon Electronics press room packed with people.

He held out the papers he had brought, carefully, and asked,

"About the Chairman's personal-fortune contribution. Will this do as it stands?"

The moment he heard it Jeong-cheol Choi felt a throbbing in his head.

"Give it here. I shall take it to the Vice-Chairman and have it confirmed."

Jeong-cheol Choi took the papers the Secretariat had drawn up and turned away.

And before leaving the Secretariat he gave the staff an instruction.

"All of you, keep your wits about you. Five days remain. This announcement could change Ilhyeon's future, so stay alert and make no mistakes."

"Yes. Understood."

Hearing their answer, Jeong-cheol Choi made for the Vice-Chairman's office.

Knock, knock.

Having knocked, Jeong-cheol Choi opened the door carefully and went in.

"Well? Has something happened?"

Seong-ho Kim, sitting at his ease on the reception sofa watching television, turned to him with the remote still in his hand.

Jeong-cheol Choi bowed his head slightly and held out what he had brought.

"Vice-Chairman. Take a look at this."

"What is it?"

Seong-ho Kim took it, and as he asked he looked over the contents.
