Chapter 409: The Words That Are Uneasy to Speak Aloud

Jeong-cheol Choi was moving at a run.

He was rushing back and forth to catch every last detail of the calls coming in from every direction and to report each one to Seong-ho Kim.

"Deputy Head. This one is Dongpyeong Construction. Dongpyeong Construction is asking if we could put their name on the cheering batons. They're offering 5 billion won for the arrangement."

"Regrettable, but tell them we don't have any plans to break the arrangements up into pieces like that."

"Yes, sir."

Jeong-cheol Choi jotted Seong-ho Kim's instruction into his notebook and moved to the next item.

"Next is the Seoul city government and the National Police Agency — the sense I got was that they'd like to know how many people the Deputy Head is expecting to gather this time. How should I respond?"

"Tell them at minimum 1.5 million in Seoul, 5 million nationwide."

"…At minimum. Five million?"

Jeong-cheol Choi, in the middle of writing down Seong-ho Kim's words, lifted his head with a startled look.

Five million was one-tenth of the entire population of the Republic of Korea — an enormous figure.

"If you count the people who won't stay in one place, it could be even higher. But tell them to set their standard around that and prepare accordingly."

"Yes, sir."

Watching Jeong-cheol Choi diligently write out the instructions, Seong-ho Kim asked,

"And how is our side's preparation?"

"On t-shirts, the quantity already in circulation is substantial, so we shouldn't need to prepare especially more. Rather — since this is an afternoon match — bottled water and drinks are expected to be needed in far greater quantities. So on top of our existing suppliers, we've brought in five more bottled-water vendors. We have a total of two million 500-milliliter bottles ready."

"If it's feasible, bring in more as a buffer. Anything left over, we can use for the next match."

"…The next match?"

Jeong-cheol Choi held Seong-ho Kim's gaze for a moment, then hastily said he understood, told him he'd head off to prepare for Saturday's street-cheering, and stepped out of the office.
