"If that's the way you're going to be about it — fine. I can't wait any longer either."
Chang-jong's loud voice filled the living room.
"Do as you like. You may think you can defy Father's instructions, but I don't. You can go tell Father yourself. I can't."
Unlike his usual manner of watching Chang-jong's mood and trying to soothe him somehow, Mun-jong was now speaking loudly in a do-what-you-like way, and at the sight of it Chang-jong's face pinched into a frown.
"You seem to be counting on something… don't come to regret this."
"I don't know who you think is going to be doing the regretting. Regret it yourself. When it's a no, you have to know it's a no. This isn't a child begging for a toy…"
Watching from the side, Jeong-eun asked out of curiosity—
"What's going on? What is this all about?"
Jeong-eun looked back and forth between Chang-jong and Mun-jong, but no one answered.
At her frustration, she was about to raise her voice — and couldn't. Because Tak-hyeon, together with Sang-jong, had just appeared in the living room.
"Father. There's something I have to say."
Chang-jong approached Tak-hyeon before he even reached his seat, pointed a finger at Mun-jong, and tried to launch into something concerning Mun-jong.
"You wouldn't believe what Eldest Brother has been doing—"
"And what have you been doing?"
Tak-hyeon shot back the moment Chang-jong opened his mouth.
At the ominous edge in Tak-hyeon's response, Chang-jong pointed at Mun-jong again and said—
"Father. Hear me out first. Eldest Brother has been—"
But Chang-jong didn't get to finish. Tak-hyeon snatched the newspaper from Sang-jong's hand as he followed into the living room and hurled it into Chang-jong's face.
"You worthless idiot. If you have eyes, look properly. Look at what you've done."
Chang-jong, hand still lifted, looked down at the newspaper that had fallen to the floor.
