Yellow Great-Immortal was first in combat power among the jin beasts present; Shen Cong was first in intelligence, his combat power no less than Yellow Great-Immortal's.

When two evolved individuals with strong possessive instincts began to cooperate, the situation on the battlefield instantly turned one-sided. Yellow Great-Immortal as the meat-shield, Shen Cong dealing damage from behind — for a while they slaughtered until the jin beasts' blood-gold flowed into a river.

Only one jin beast was spared the calamity, and that was the Snail Traveler. Shen Cong did have a soft spot for this big snail. And most importantly, the big snail was cowed by Shen Cong — when Shen Cong communicated with it in snail-Cicada-Language and told it to leave, the big snail hesitated a moment, then in the end still crawled off.

Shen Cong told it the fire-spirit mediums outside were free to eat, but the Firestarter Spirit was not to be touched.

So the combat-zero big snail chose the safest option: it would just eat the fire-spirit mediums outside. Of course, there weren't actually many fire-spirit mediums left — the high-quality ones had all been picked up by Shen Cong. The Vajra-Ants were no good at fighting, but their ability to gather things was absolutely meticulous.
