For the next several arrows, Shen Cong focused entirely on killing and wounding the uninjured jin beasts.

By the time he'd finished the sweep, the Firestarter Spirit had, amid a crk-crk, come crashing down — its tyrannical, wild thought and emotion all thoroughly dispersing with this one fall.

Its radiative fluctuation weakened; its Activity began to bleed away.

The Firestarter Spirit, of terrifying strength, had in the end still fallen into the vast ocean of the jin beast masses.

Though it was dead, the craving to devour it had roused wouldn't dissipate for a while yet. So the seven or eight remaining jin beasts began scrambling wildly over the Firestarter Spirit's "corpse," and among them Yellow Great-Immortal was the fiercest. It hadn't taken much injury, because it was too nimble — Shen Cong had never found an opening to shoot it dead.
