These past few days, apart from repairing the truck, he'd put most of his energy into the study of Activity waves.

Activity waves were like a profound, independent science — the more he knew, the more he felt his own ignorance. This was a system vaster than the rules of physics, encompassing many of the disciplinary rules known to human civilization yet standing independent of that framework. The whole of Earth's evolution was in the process of accepting and merging into this system.

Studying the Third Eye and Third Eye Radar, he felt the Third Eye's Activity wave still awaited further development.

Studying the Activity light-wave and Activity water-wave, he felt that with these two combination Activity waves, what he made use of was no more than the edges and fringes.

Studying Cicada Language, he felt that the Cicada Song sort of Activity wave truly did have the potential to become the electric-cicada wave, applicable to communications down the line.

Shen Cong had even thought that just as Cicada Language could be extended into the electric-cicada wave, perhaps the Third Eye could be extended and developed too — developed into a true radar-form Activity wave. He named this envisioned Activity wave the "sky-thunder wave."

An even bigger flight of fancy: he'd discovered that the Third Eye and Cicada Language might, in some form, be combined into a wholly new combination Activity wave. The Third Eye carried images; Cicada Language carried sound; a newly combined Activity wave would join image and sound together, achieving the transmission of far more content.

This conception he named the "thunderbolt wave."
