Chapter 1120: One Against Ten Thousand

At Yue Yang’s challenge, Wanmo instead laughed aloud, seeming still to have everything well in hand, unmoved by the invincible, all-conquering crystal giant before him.

Everyone was astonished.

Seeing how incomparably mighty the crystal giant was, why was he unmoved?

Could it be that Wanmo still had a secret trump card unrevealed, some yet more unbelievable power he hadn’t shown?

Or else, did he know where the crystal giant’s weakness lay, and already have a foe-vanquishing method in mind?

Just as everyone was speculating in suspicion, a faint tremor suddenly came from deep in the earth.

As though a corpse buried deep underground had come back to life.

Digging its way up from below.

To return to the surface and choose whom to devour.

On the dead earth, those intensely corrosive, sizzling, smoking drops of black blood, too, as if alive, kept gathering together, then flowed collectively toward a hollow pit. Seeing this bizarre sight, Yue Yang knit his brows, and the crystal giant beneath his feet instantly launched an attack, thrusting out its huge foot a second time to stamp the hollow pit gathering the black blood flat.

That black blood, gathered into a pool with such effort, was splattered up at once by the overbearing tramp.

Scattered across all of heaven and earth…

But Wanmo wasn’t angry; his shoulders shook, and he chuckled strangely, over and over. “You really think that could kill Jinji? Perhaps you don’t know yet—his demon construct, ‘Black Blood,’ can never die! Young man, once you’ve beaten Jinji, come challenge me again!”

His meaning was a veiled hint that Yue Yang wasn’t yet qualified to challenge him.

Even though Yue Yang now possessed an invincible crystal giant.

The moment Wanmo spoke—

—the whole field was in an uproar.

This—this really was too outrageous… Just how mighty the crystal-giant-owning little Titan was, the students reckoned that even Ji Wuri—owner of the “Vengeful Prince,” styled the one nearest to the divine—was already no match for little Titan. Even though the Vengeful Prince and the crystal giant were both platinum-grade, even a blind man could see the crystal giant was far, far mightier than the Vengeful Prince! A hundred-meter-tall body, a crystalline frame that ignored corrosion and other energy-erosion damage, and control as nimble as one’s own arm and fingers—such a crystal giant could absolutely level a city within a few minutes. Yet the shameless Wanmo actually held that the present little Titan wasn’t yet qualified to challenge him… Too arrogant! This was absolutely arrogant beyond all measure, arrogant beyond bounds, arrogant beyond all reckoning!

Rumble!

On the ground splattered all over with black blood, a huge cavern suddenly erupted, and a demon construct composed of countless drops of black blood came boring frantically out of it.

At a look, people found that the demon construct—only ten meters tall a moment ago—had now become a hundred-meter giant too.

Most unbelievable of all, on the demon construct’s ugly forehead—

—was imprinted a bizarre rune array.

Glittering brightly.

When the rune array gave off a strong light, the crystal giant suddenly broke free of its master Yue Yang’s will and control, reverting to a mindless puppet on automatic attack, and charged at the hundred-meter demon construct.

Before all those watching eyes, the demon construct was knocked down by a punch from the crystal giant—yet suffered not the slightest damage, the black blood swiftly reconverging, restoring it to its original state in an instant.

It kept falling, and kept retreating, drawing the crystal giant along, gradually leaving the battlefield.

The crystal giant only chased it, savagely pummeling, wholly out of control.

Yue Yang, possessing his wisdom-seeing Heavenly Eye, naturally saw what that rune array on the demon construct’s forehead meant. This was the legendary “Lure.” Never mind the crystal giant, which had no intelligence to begin with—even a low-intelligence war beast couldn’t struggle free of the “Lure’s” rune power. Though he possessed a crystal giant, Wanmo had successfully broken it, using the undying demon construct and the Lure rune in a double-draw on the crystal giant, leaving Yue Yang, for his part, with nothing all over again.

His intent was fit to be executed for!

“Have you got a second crystal giant? If not, then sorry—I’m going to win!” Wanmo asked Yue Yang with a smug laugh.

“Without the crystal giant, without the silver wolf, I’ve still got the ‘Gold Tiger.'” There wasn’t the slightest anxiety on Yue Yang’s face—rather, it was the students supporting him who sweated a hot sweat with worry on his behalf.

Yue Yang lightly stroked the storage ring on his finger, and a gold-grade fierce-tiger puppet war-beast leapt out.

Its momentum was like a fierce tiger coming down the mountain.

Unstoppable.

Even without the platinum-grade crystal giant’s might, compared to that crystal giant—which couldn’t fight as a merged body and, once Lured, would go out of control—this gold fierce-tiger construct before him, which automatically opened its combat cockpit and rapidly transformed into “Berserk Tiger-Claws” to fight the enemy together with its master, Yue Yang, for his part, would wield far more handily! Set against its fierce, mighty form and its overbearing, ferocious power, the “man-eating ogre” Wanmo relied upon across the field seemed cast into the shade, exceedingly stupid and clumsy.

Clap, clap, clap!

The students supporting Yue Yang couldn’t help clapping hard, cheering without cease.

But the people supporting Wanmo turned from fair to overcast, their faces darkening… A moment ago, when the crystal giant left, they’d thought little Titan could be easily taken down—who’d have known this little Titan still had a gold fierce-tiger construct? Truly a terrifying opponent!

Wanmo’s face was rather grim now too, and he gave a cold sneer. “A gold tiger? A petty little trick. I dealt with the platinum-grade crystal giant—what’s a mere gold construct worth? Little Titan, perhaps you’re skilled at the hundred-and-eight-strike combo, perhaps your piloting is beyond anyone’s reach—but before absolutely invincible divine power, what does any of it count for? Compared to a god, you’re nothing but a pitiful little bug; even a ten-thousandth of divine power is enough to grind you into a heap of rotten scraps!”

“No use talking more—bring it on.” Yue Yang leapt into the Berserk Tiger-Claws’ cockpit and merged with the fierce-tiger construct to fight.

He’d known long ago that Wanmo possessed the power of the evil god.

By comparison, Jinji—who held only a hundred-thousandth of the evil god’s power—was nothing but trash.

Yet even so, Yue Yang couldn’t easily kill Jinji either; he could only conjure a crystal giant from thin air to mount a total suppression, forcing Jinji—transformed by the evil god’s power into the demon construct “Black Blood”—into steady, undying retreat.

And against Wanmo, Yue Yang naturally couldn’t use the same method.

He’d feigned not seeing through Wanmo’s little maneuvers, deliberately letting Wanmo lend Jinji a covert hand, and deliberately letting Wanmo plant the evil god’s “Lure” on “Black Blood’s” forehead—even abandoning control of the crystal giant, cooperating with Wanmo, making him and the reason-bereft Jinji believe the Lure was effective, so as to increase their use of the evil god’s power.

In truth, Yue Yang merely wanted to probe and drain the two men’s evil-god power.

Once he found the truth of the evil god’s power—

—then later, in the final battle to come against the resurrected evil god, he’d have far greater assurance!

“Let me show you what the world’s most irresistible strike is—a wholly steamrolling battle…” Wanmo laughed wildly. He knew full well his opponent was a super-powerhouse, a foe he couldn’t possibly defeat on his personal strength alone. But he was still brimming with confidence, because the power that god had bestowed gave him a reason to believe that he stood forever in an undefeatable position—especially within Human Valley, where no one at all could surpass or defeat him!

Wanmo’s two hands, withered and gaunt as a skeleton’s, gently extended.

Two orbs of black light gathered within his palms… Personal power, absolutely impossible to use within Human Valley, was—with the evil god’s power temporarily breaking the Law’s restrictions—restored to Wanmo in an instant, his own talent and domain power returning.

In just one second, the warped space of his palms had countless orbs of black light converging, forming two black suns of the utmost terror.

The black suns left his hands.

Falling toward the ground.

Wanmo—having used the evil god’s power to temporarily break the restriction—could no longer hold out, and hurriedly withdrew the evil god’s power, lest he burst his body under the backlash of the Law’s restriction. Even as he forcibly gasped for breath, calming the pain and suffocation of the Law-restriction’s recoil within his chest, he laughed wildly. Amid that monstrous, mad laughter, the two black suns falling to the ground silently, soundlessly swallowed nearly half the battlefield… They didn’t burst; rather, they kept spreading outward, blotting out the sky and covering the sun as they crept.

When those black lights gradually dispersed, when the watching students recovered their sight—

—everyone discovered, in horror—

—that at some unknown moment, an army of the Skeleton Race already stood arrayed behind Wanmo.

Their number beyond counting; by rough estimate, this Skeleton Race army, each of them radiating a terrible aura, numbered at least fifty thousand.

In the Skeleton Race army, any one of them had the strength of a gold-grade construct. These skeletal Skeleton Race beings, neither alive nor belonging to the demon race, were recognized by Human Valley’s Law as a kind of “puppet construct,” so their appearance on the battlefield incurred no penalty from any Law… Which was to say, Yue Yang’s opponent had now been swapped for over fifty thousand skeletal Skeleton Race warriors—fifty thousand enemies equal to, or even surpassing, the gold war-tiger!

“Look here, little Titan—aren’t you quite the fighter? Then fight! Use your hundred-and-eight strikes, attack this army viciously! Don’t stand on ceremony with me. I dare say that so long as you can beat these sixty thousand Skeleton Race, I’ll concede cleanly. Ah ha ha ha ha! Oh, right—I almost forgot to tell you: among the sixty thousand Skeleton Race warriors, there are also sixty White-Bone Generals. Were they converted to Human Valley’s power standard, any one of them would be above a platinum-grade construct—indeed, they have intelligence no less than a man’s. Now, please do your very best, and defeat them all!” Wanmo waved a hand, giving Yue Yang no chance to speak, and giving the watching students no time for cursing and scorn, and directly ordered the Skeleton Race warriors to charge, to steamroll Yue Yang with the advantage of numbers.

“…” Before Yue Yang could get a word out, the fierce-tiger construct was already engulfed by the sky-blotting, earth-covering charge of the Skeleton Race skeletons.

The watching students were struck dumb as wooden chickens.

Impossible!

Even though the Skeleton Race warriors weren’t living creatures, only skeletons, there was still no reason for them to appear in Human Valley.

Most unbelievable of all—by what power had Wanmo broken through the Law’s restrictions to bring these Skeleton Race skeletons onto the battlefield? Did this mean one thing—that Wanmo already possessed the power to break through the Law’s restrictions? Even a single second was enough for him to bring tens of thousands of skeletal warriors onto the battlefield, or into Human Valley…

The Heavenly Pride Chairman, his crane-haired, child-faced complexion turning somewhat ugly, hadn’t expected matters to evolve to such a pass.

The many mentors at his side, too, felt their hearts turn to dead ashes.

Secretly they marveled in alarm at this new overlord Wanmo about to be born… With fifty or sixty thousand Skeleton Race skeletons rivaling gold constructs, who in Human Valley could still be his match? By rough estimate, even if every power in the whole of Human Valley banded together, it wouldn’t be enough to defeat this Wanmo—let alone that he still possessed sixty White-Bone Generals rivaling platinum constructs!

The whole field fell into a dead silence.

Even Chimu, that big mouth, was struck dumb and speechless.

One against ten, even one against a hundred, was possible—but one against a thousand, one against ten thousand, how could victory ever be won?

One against ten thousand truly was a number to make one despair!

Despair!

Seeing Wanmo with his sixty thousand Skeleton Race warriors, even Ren Tiange, the Silver-Eyed Great Sage, and the others shook their heads and sighed, feeling that Yue Yang was now powerless to turn the tide… Even with the crystal giant and the Gold Tiger, how could they measure up to sixty thousand Skeleton Race? Ants in great enough number can devour an elephant—let alone that these Skeleton Race warriors were of no mean strength to begin with!

“I trust him—he’ll surely return victorious!” The only person who still believed in Yue Yang a hundred percent now was Young Lord Mingzhu, and Mingzhu alone.

“One against ten thousand is hard, true, but I too believe in this little fellow.” Beyond that, the one who still believed Yue Yang would laugh last was, of all people, the honored Principal. He knew Yue Yang still had trump cards unplayed; if that one came out, then—though one couldn’t say an absolute, sweeping victory—at the very least he could withdraw whole. And as a mentor and senior, the honored Principal absolutely couldn’t easily let his supporting heart waver; in the battle of his own proud protégé, he was absolutely supportive to the very end!

“If you can cross this gate, then the secret of Human Valley will truly open to you…”

The three white-clad maidens appeared at some unknown moment upon a distant rock.

Even as they gazed toward this side, they smiled at one another.

Joy on their faces.

Seeming very delighted to see a battle like this…
