But the energy weapon wasn't the pressing task. Bug Warriors didn't feed on Activity energy; developing a shield to defend against the Mushroom weapons — that was the pressing task.

And developing a shield to defend against the Mushroom weapons, in Shen Cong's view, wasn't a difficult matter.

The Mushroom weapons' Activity light-wave was a combined Activity wave. As long as its internal balance could be disrupted, the Activity light-wave would naturally be neutralized.

Building was harder than breaking. The Activity light-wave's very existence was harder than breaking it, too.

So Shen Cong quickly arrived at how to disrupt the Mushroom weapons' Activity light-wave — break the combined balance.

"I can simulate one of the spore's Activity waves on the outer layer of the Hell Plant Armor. The pointed mushroom and round mushroom both run high in dose; the flat mushroom's Activity wave is hard to simulate; the long mushroom's Activity wave is the easiest. As long as I simulate the long mushroom's Activity wave, then when the Activity light-wave penetrates through, it mixes with the long-mushroom Activity wave, warps the balance, and instantly cuts the energy down."

Having conceived the shield's defensive method, the next step was experiment.

Simulating a single Activity wave wasn't difficult. Shen Cong soon used up the last of the spore powder — but it was well worth it, because he'd finally calculated what degree of long-mushroom Activity wave could easily warp the Activity light-wave's balance.

"The one flaw is that when the spore powder explodes, the Activity light-wave produced is too abundant and too strong, which will greatly intensify the Hell Plant Armor's drain."
