Ye Lan was a true heir of the Three Immortals Teaching, no doubt about it. Her grasp of the techniques was profound, and when she explained them, she kept it simple and clear.

With the panel's deduction alongside, Shen Yi soon had both techniques thoroughly digested.

But he didn't start cultivating right away.

First, he didn't have enough demon lifespan. The Three Immortals Teaching's techniques weren't like the Pilgrim's path. Hard training alone wouldn't raise his cultivation; a great deal of his own understanding and insight had to go into it.

On top of that, Shen Yi had entered the True Immortal realm with the Jade Dragon Sect's heterodox wild method. Getting back onto the proper path would be harder still.

Second, at Ye Lan's level, she could easily see any change in his realm. Back at the Earth God's shrine, for instance, she hadn't just seen it—she had used the mortal world's imperial qi to set him right herself.

Even if the two of them were closer now than before, the panel still couldn't be exposed.

“You seem to be in a good mood?” Ye Lan closed the manual. After everything that had happened, she didn't really understand what Shen Yi was thinking.

The Taixu Dao-fruit was precious, true, but not irreplaceable.

With his ability and talent, it wouldn't be hard for him to join some immortal sect that held a top-ten Dao-fruit.

And a proper immortal lineage at that, not a run-down house like hers.

“Not bad.”

Shen Yi stood up and stretched his arms a little.

Put it this way: in all his cultivation, the Alchemy Peak was the only power he had joined whose inheritance was still intact. It led straight to the fifth-rank Taiyi Immortal realm, and even the road into the fourth rank could be traced.

Think of the brainpower and demon lifespan that would save.

Anywhere else, he would have had to take a master first and then climb up one step at a time with his feet on the ground.

Talent that showed would earn special grooming, of course. But it would…
