Jiang Yu spent the whole morning alone in the dorm.

It wasn't until around two in the afternoon that she slung her bag over her shoulder and headed for the subway station.

When Jiang Yu got there, Tang Yunshen was already waiting at the entrance.

He spotted her coming and quickly raised a hand to wave. Once she reached him, he stepped right up to meet her with a smile. "You look great today."

That one line nearly left Jiang Yu, single since birth, with no comeback. Luckily, she'd been force-fed plenty of dog food by now. Hearing such a direct compliment gave her a little thrill inside, but she kept her face fairly calm. "I didn't keep you waiting long, did I?"

"No, I just got here. We said a quarter past two, and you're not late."

"Then let's head down."

"Okay."

The two of them rode the escalator down into the station and fell into easy conversation along the way. Tang Yunshen kept complaining to Jiang Yu about how exhausting trainee life was and how packed the schedule was. Jiang Yu wasn't very interested in that. Ever since Friday's dinner with Xu Ye, she'd been steering the conversation, sometimes on purpose and sometimes not, toward Tang Yunshen's family and friends. But for some reason, he never picked up that thread.

When they came out of the subway, the movie theater was right there, on the top floor of the mall next door. They went into the theater at three and didn't come out until five.

"It's still early. Want to hit the arcade?"

"Sure."

Tang Yunshen soon led Jiang Yu into the arcade. Once they'd changed money for tokens, the two of them started trying their luck at the claw machines.
