Xu Ye opened the image and looked it over.

Wang Manning hadn't been lying. Tang Yunshen's name was nowhere on the list. The only person surnamed Tang was someone called Tang Jialong.

If Tang Jialong was Tang Yunshen, why hadn't he told Jiang Yu the truth?

Xu Ye had a feeling there was a "problem" in there somewhere.

So after thinking it over for a moment, he video-called Chen Qingqing and had her pass the phone straight to Jiang Yu.

Jiang Yu took the phone. "What's this about?"

Xu Ye didn't beat around the bush. He smiled. "It's nothing big, really. It's just… you know my cousin goes to the drama academy? She's in acting too. Last Saturday I took her out to eat, and I happened to bring up Tang Yunshen. Then just now she called me and said there's nobody named Tang Yunshen at their school."

"That's impossible." Jiang Yu burst out laughing. She laughed for a good while, until she saw how serious Xu Ye looked. That stopped her.

She pressed him. "Did you actually check? I've been to his school."

"I did. The acting department takes thirty-some students a year, tops, so asking around about one person is easy. Plus she sent me the whole list. There is one guy on it surnamed Tang, but his name isn't Tang Yunshen. It's Tang Jialong."

For a moment Jiang Yu didn't know what to say.

She'd frozen, so Xu Ye went on. "You'd better get a straight answer out of him. If his real name is Tang Jialong, why did he tell you it was Tang Yunshen? Even if he changed it, he still owes you an explanation."

Jiang Yu was still holding the phone, but her mind was somewhere far away.

She sat there in a daze for a long while, then snapped out of it all at once. "Okay. Got it."

Xu Ye smiled. "Get Zhang Ruowei to help you think it through. Don't start dating him in the heat of the moment. You can know a face without knowing the heart."

He left it at…
