"Tae-san. I'm so jealous of you."

"Jealous of what?"

"You skipped midterms! Man... Constitutional Law and Introduction to Law were insane. Jesus..."

Constitutional law and the rest of it—subjects I'd been through more times than I could count in my last life.

This was their first real taste of how vast the law was, and the poor little lambs were shell-shocked.

"Quit whining. Don't you know this is just the start? I bet a good chunk of our class heads straight into Sillim-dong the minute vacation starts."

I knocked them down a peg.

"I think I need a tutor or something. ...On the Introduction to Law exam, I wrote 'Long live Korea' and walked out."

"Seriously, how can they put stuff we never learned on the test! The moral relationship between capital economics and the order of inheritance! What does that even mean!"

"Ugh..."

I'd met up with my classmates.

Han Dae-seong, our class rep, had become a friend after the teaching assistant incident. Choi Jun-sik and I had been close from the start. The three of us sat on a bench outside the law building, drinking canned coffee.

In my last life, I'd lived on hundred-won vending machine coffee on campus.

Cheap as dirt, too—a student welfare perk.

I remembered the taste of the coffee I used to share with friends, just to say hi.

I should go down there sometime and at least donate a scholarship.

My life had rewound, but the old memories with those friends were still very much alive.

Getting to live twice was a stroke of luck, but I'd lost a lot along the way, too.

"So why'd you call me?"

I'd come to school because of Dae-seong's text.

Since Son Yu-ri left, coming to school just wasn't the same.

On Si-eun was as busy as a fourth-year ought to be.

Whenever we did run into each other, the supercomputer quote was all she ever talked about.

She'd probably end up marrying the thing.

"The student council president told me to bring you."

"Senior Hak-pil?"

Things were busy these days.

April went, and May…
