Jiangzhou.
By the lake, the evening breeze was cool.
Pei Youwei held her phone tight and gazed out at the rippling water and the full moon overhead. She looked faintly let down.
She'd been sitting there a long, long time, and she still hadn't made up her mind.
"Ding-dong~"
Her phone chimed, snapping her out of it. She unlocked it and opened the messages from her brother.
Pei Jianhua: "Youwei, still not done with work?"
Pei Jianhua: "The whole family's waiting for you."

A message came in from Yu Beiwang, too. "If you still can't decide, you can tell them I got busy with work and had to fly back to Shanghai."
Pei Youwei froze. Then her eyes quickly steadied, as if she'd finally made her choice.
"Where are you right now?"
"At the hotel."
"I'll come get you. Come home with me."
"Okay~"
After that short exchange, Pei Youwei got up and went back to her car. She opened her photo album and deleted the old photos, the ones from years back, one by one. Then she drove to the hotel.
Yu Beiwang got into the passenger seat with the gifts he'd had ready for a while. Pei Youwei saw what he was holding and spoke first. "If I hadn't come to pick you up tonight, what were you going to do with all that?"
He…
