The royal suite on the top floor of Yongpyong Resort.

Through the glass wall off the living room, the night slopes lay spread out below.

The suite was bigger than most luxury homes.

In the middle of the marble-finished living room stood a sofa so big ten people could sit around it with room to spare.

Farther in, there was even a separate bar and a hot tub.

Every winter, Gu Changjin used this place as his base camp.

He booked the whole suite for nearly a month, called his friends in and skied.

By day they roamed the slopes; by night they hung out with women they met at the clubs and lounges, then brought them back to the suite to drink.

Tonight was no different.

The living room was full of chaebol kids who'd come up through the Cheonghwa High School Management Studies Society.

They were all graduates past twenty-five.

Some were still in college; others were getting ready to join one of their families' affiliates.

Every winter, when Gu Changjin called, they flocked to Yongpyong.

Next to each of them sat a woman they'd met at the resort club.

The table was a mess of fine whiskey and champagne and half-eaten fruit and snacks.

Music filled the living room, and drunken laughter from the men and women never let up.

"Is the Hyundo Group heir really coming here?"

A woman in a short dress asked, her face full of anticipation.

"This is Gu Changjin's suite."

A man answered, pulling her in by the shoulder.

"Chairman Gu Hoseon's son?"

"You think there are two Gu Changjins at Hyundo?"

"Oh my god……"

The woman's eyes lit up. The other women pretended not to care but listened in on the conversation.

They were newly debuted models or aspiring ones. Their eyes were full of the hunger to climb.

Gu Changjin was the sole heir to the Hyundo Group, third in the chaebol rankings.

He was still unmarried, and they had high hopes, imagining they might have a chance.

If they caught his eye tonight, their lives could change.

Even if…
