Between the Eastern Theater Command, the Provisional Government, the China Rescue Team, and the moles planted inside the Jingang Art's Buddha-Land on Earth and the Great Manchu State, the reports came back. Since the great earthquakes, twenty-eight deep fissures had opened.

Of those twenty-eight deep fissures, six gave off radiative fluctuation. Evolved beasts disturbed them in the end, and six Firestarter Spirits climbed up out of the deep fissures.

One of them was near Bazhou City.

A Firestarter Spirit did a great deal of killing on land. Wherever one passed, evolved beasts died in numbers. The Spirits were not yet a real threat to humans, though, because humans knew how to hold themselves back. They kept out of a Firestarter Spirit's way on purpose, and they did not let the radiative fluctuation draw them in past the point of pulling free.

Once he reached the Bazhou City area, Shen Cong pinned down the Firestarter Spirit's position fast.

A Firestarter Spirit did a great deal of killing, but the jin cores it ate took time to digest. After devouring a certain quantity of jin cores, it would spend a full day digesting them.

The Firestarter Spirit Shen Cong found had already fed three times.

It had mimicked an enormous tiger. And Shen Cong found that this magma tiger's eyes were not the fire-spirit medium he had seen before, but a very unusual crystalline substance.

"Interesting. The Firestarter Spirit's aura has steadied. Is that because it's been hunting all this time, picking up experience at staying alive, and its intelligence has come up? Its eyes are unusual. Could that be a newly born body structure? Do Firestarter Spirits come in all kinds of different body structures?"

Shen Cong did not have to puzzle over whether there were different structures. Kill this Firestarter Spirit, dig the eyes out, and it would be clear enough.

Before the kill, though, he meant to use this Firestarter Spirit to train Yellow Great-Immortal and the four-legged dragon to resist radiative fluctuation. Otherwise the two dim-wits made fools of themselves every time they ran into a Firestarter Spirit,…
