Saturday, cloudy clearing to sunny.
After lunch, Xu Ye and Chen Qingqing went out shopping together.
Besides buying a few things for herself, Chen Qingqing bought Xu Ye two spring jackets, one of them a casual jacket that came as a matching couple's set. Once she'd paid at the counter, she ordered Xu Ye to change into his on the spot, and then changed into the matching one herself — same style, different color.
The salesgirl knew how to talk to people. Seeing Xu Ye and Chen Qingqing wearing her store's couple's set, she got several compliments in before adding thoughtfully, "Would you like me to take a photo of the two of you?"
The lighting in brand stores is designed with some care. Photos taken inside come out much better than photos taken outside.
Chen Qingqing handed her phone straight over to the salesgirl, then pulled Xu Ye back a few steps and stood arm in arm with him.
"Get your heads a little closer together."
"Good, just like that."
Click.
The salesgirl finished and gave the phone back. Chen Qingqing thanked her and steered Xu Ye out of the store.
Chen Qingqing walked along looking at the photo the salesgirl had just taken. Xu Ye kept pace beside her, bags of every size in one hand, the other hand needed to steer her clear of the pillars and benches she was about to walk into.
Chen Qingqing made a few quick adjustments to the saturation and color, then posted it to Moments with a two-word caption: happy weekend.
Apart from her parents and Xu Ye's relatives, nearly everyone in Chen Qingqing's WeChat contacts was someone she'd met since starting university, and Xu Ye knew all of them.
The post went up and was seen by a lot of people very quickly.
Her roommates liked it one after another.
Old Zhang, also home for the weekend, saw the photo of Xu Ye and Chen Qingqing in his feed and liked it immediately.
Yang Lin followed right after.
Jiang Meilin not only liked it, she left a row of thumbs-up…
